How to get started

You may be wondering how do I begin my coaching journey?  Many times our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, hinder us from doing what we really want to do.  Often we have excuses that pop into our minds that tell us why we cannot take the next step.  These excuses keep us feeling “stuck.” 

Below are a few strategies that may assist you in getting “unstuck” and choose your pathway into coaching.

1.  You may want to research several Life Coaching websites.  This will help you feel informed about Life Coaching. Coaches vary in the way they Coach, and what they offer, because we all have unique gifts and abilities to share.  A connection between Coach and client is essential. I encourage you to take note of what resonates with you through the content, look and feel, of each website you peruse through.

2.  I offer a complimentary “get to know you” Coaching session. This is a time where we can have a conversation, ask questions and see how our connection feels.  I promise to provide an inviting, safe, non-judgmental space for you.  I encourage you to take advantage of this gift and ask as many questions as you feel necessary to feel informed and empowered.  To set up a time for us to talk, please email me at pam@pathsofdiscoverylifecoaching.com ,or call 970-613-0972, ext #2.

3.  Occasionally, it takes more than one conversation between Coach and client before making your decision to hire a Life Coach.  If this is what you need, please feel free to ask.  I may also ask this of you.

4.  Many Coaches offer a complimentary session.  You may want to interview a few different Coaches.  This will give you a taste of their style as well as the connection between the two of you. Notice how you feel while conversing.  How well do you feel you are being listened to? Are you comfortable, excited, or motivated? 

5.  Because each Professional Coach has a particular style of coaching, it might be helpful to know how I coach, what I expect of my clients and what they can expect of me.

    My clients are in a good place in their lives.  They are excited to take their professional, spiritual or personal lives to the next level.

     By taking the pathway into coaching, you are probably ready to make some changes in your life.  I will ask you to do your best and I will do the same.  If at some point, you are feeling overwhelmed or fall off your path, I will listen and hear you, understand, and help you find your way back.

     Honesty is one of my values.  I ask that you speak honestly and be open to new ideas, learning and concepts.

     I do not step over the small things.  This means that if I see an inconsistency, hear something in your voice, or see something in your body language, I will ask you about it.  This can offer opportunities to shine a light on something that may be blocking your path.  

     I request that my clients do homework.  If it is too much, please say so, if you want more, please ask.

     I am here to support, care and love you in whatever you wish to share with me. I want you to share your wins, concerns, opportunities, and your challenges. I am here for you.

6.  If you have made the decision to hire me as your Professional Life Coach, I request that you call or email me so that we can schedule our first session. 

7.  You will receive a Welcome packet that includes a Coaching Agreement outlining the package you chose, payment terms, and our coaching schedule.  The packet will also include a Client Profile and Client Prep Form for you to fill out as well as a few items for you to read and think about.
